Whether you are looking to relax or party, Atlanta offers a good time at an affordable price. The city was named among the top five most fun cities in the U.S. in a recent study by WalletHub.
The finance company ranked 182 U.S. cities based on entertainment, nightlife and parties, and the financial cost of recreation using data from the U.S. Census Bureau, TripAdvisor and other sources. Atlanta placed No. 4, just behind Miami and Orlando, Florida, and Las Vegas.
Foodie fun is never far away in Atlanta, which led the nation in ice cream and frozen yogurt spots and ranked No. 9 for restaurants per capita.
For sports fans, Atlanta offers the most venues per capita and fifth-most tennis courts. Plus, with the fourth-most public swimming pools, Atlanta makes it easy for residents to beat the heat.
After the sun sets, Atlanta’s nightlife shines. The city ranked No. 10 for dance clubs and No. 12 for music venues. Notably, the city leads WalletHub’s “Dance Party Index,” which measures dance party prevalence.
“Atlanta stands out as one of the most fun cities because it delivers a wide variety of activities with real breadth and variety,” WalletHub analyst Chip Lupo told Atlanta Agent Magazine. “What’s particularly appealing is that the city offers all this variety in a cost-efficient manner. … In short, you get a city with truly broad entertainment options, from skate parks to nightclubs, that are still within reach financially. That mix of variety, accessibility and affordability is what really makes Atlanta a fun and special place.”
