With 17 years of experience and loanDepot’s technology and leaders behind him, Zulauf serves all clients, ensuring they feel comfortable and confident throughout the loan process. “I make sure my clients are not living beyond their means and getting strapped down by a mortgage payment,” he says. “I just really enjoy helping people with the largest financial transaction of their lifetime. Seeing their happiness at closing makes it all worth it.”

A former professional basketball player in Europe, Zulauf earned his real estate license while working as a senior loan officer, ultimately climbing the ladder to become a home mortgage consultant with Wells Fargo and then a home lending consultant with Citibank. After nearly five years as a senior mortgage banker with Fidelity Bank, Zulauf joined loanDepot. With the help of his brother, Jeff, Zulauf grew their loanDepot branch into the top lender in the region. “We have advanced technology that can digitally verify a client’s income and assets without having the clients provide us any supporting documents,” he explains.

For the past five years, Zulauf has been a recipient of the Mortgage Bankers Association of Georgia’s Gold Award. Previously, he was voted the No. 1 lender by fellow real estate agents in Atlanta magazine. “My success is based off my clients’ success,” he says.

Inspired by his family, Zulauf feels blessed to watch his son, Brant, and daughter, Cuyler, grow up and loves traveling with them and his wife, Holly.
