The median sales price of an Atlanta home fell again in October, dipping 1.6% to $379,900 from September’s $386,000, Georgia MLS reported, citing its 12-county Housing Market Snapshot.
Year over year, the median price was still in positive territory, with a 7.6% gain from October 2021’s $353,000 price.
The number of homes sold in October fell 16.6% from September to 4,805 properties, which was 31.8% lower than the 7,041 homes sold a year earlier.
By dollar volume, homes sold were down 16.3% month over month and 25% year over year, at $2.18 billion.
Active listings surged 79.6% from a year ago to 13,470. Compared to September, listings were up 2.2%.
New listings fell 11.8% from September and 13.7% from October 2021 to 7,090.
Georgia MLS’ 12-county report includes Cherokee, Clayton, Cobb, DeKalb, Douglas, Fayette, Forsyth, Fulton, Gwinnett, Henry, Paulding and Rockdale counties.
