GAMLS: Atlanta home sales slide in April as median sales price rises

Atlanta home sales fell month-over-month in April on both a per-unit and sales-volume basis, while the median sales price rose compared to March.     

By unit, home sales fell 11.4% to 4,946 properties, Georgia MLS reported, citing its 12-county Housing Market Snapshot. By dollar volume, sales came in at $2.32 billion, down 7.3% from March. On a year-over-year basis, the number and value of homes sold fell 24.8% and 25.1%, respectively.   

The median sales price of homes sold in April was $390,000, up 3.4% from $377,000 in March but down 1.3% from $395,000 in April 2022.     

New listings fell 8.7% month over month and 18.4% year over year to 6,653, while active listings were down 1.3% on a monthly basis and up 47.3% on a yearly one, at 9,364.     

Georgia MLS’ 12-county report includes Cherokee, Clayton, Cobb, Dekalb, Douglas, Fayette, Forsyth, Fulton, Gwinnett, Henry, Paulding and Rockdale counties.
