High Street Residential and Third & Urban broke ground on Hillcrest Street Residential in Sandy Springs. The development will bring apartments, townhomes and retail to the area by the end of 2027.
Hillcrest will offer 30 luxury townhomes and a three- to five-story apartment building with 362 units. The project’s location is adjacent to the $230 million City Springs development on a parcel previously owned by Sandy Springs United Methodist Church.
Amenities at the apartment community will include a rooftop pool, dog park, remote work space, sports simulator lounge and clubroom with views of Sandy Springs and Buckhead. Hillcrest’s two- and three-bedroom townhomes will offer two-car garages and rooftop patios.
“With the groundbreaking of Hillcrest, we’re thrilled to begin creating a premier mixed-use destination that will elevate Sandy Springs and the City Springs area as a top choice for living, dining and recreation,” said Scott Kirchhoff, principal at HSR in Atlanta. “This project has come together as the result of strong collaboration between the City, Sandy Springs UMC, and our partners at Third & Urban, and we thank all of them for their trust and dedication to this development.”
Partner at Third & Urban, Hank Farmer, said, “City Springs paved the way in creating a downtown experience. Hillcrest’s groundbreaking brings us one step closer to expanding the town center, with a community-focused retail component that complements its surroundings. We look forward to the announcements to come as the project continues to take shape.”
