An office complex familiar to anyone who travels through Buckhead on GA-400 is set to be repositioned with over 200 apartments, improved office space and a new crown.

The three-building Atlanta Financial Center, which straddles the busy highway, will be rebranded APEX Atlanta, according to Newmark, which is serving as exclusive leasing agent on behalf of the owner, Banyan Street Capital, which purchased the property in July 2025.

The 284,000-square-foot office tower, APEX South, will be converted into a live/work building with approximately 260 residential units, while the 241,000 square-foot APEX North office tower on Peachtree Road has already undergone a $4 million capital improvement program that added a new lobby and on-site café to replace a former bank branch.

The 386,000 square-foot APEX Tower is slated for a comprehensive redevelopment that will take the 19-story building down to its slabs and columns and rebuild it with a new curtain wall façade, lobby, elevators, town hall and conference center, rooftop skydeck and architectural crown. Additional details on APEX Tower and APEX South will be announced later.

The overall goal is to reposition the entire property as a “premier Buckhead mixed-use destination.”

“The launch of APEX Atlanta reflects our conviction in Buckhead and establishing a new beginning for this irreplaceable landmark property,” said Zac Gruber, principal and president of the Office Division at Banyan Street Capital. “Tenant demand in Buckhead continues to concentrate in the highest-quality buildings, and we are approaching each of the three towers with a distinct strategy to meet it. The work currently underway at APEX North is the first step in a broader, campus-wide plan.”
