Growing up, what did you want to be?
I wanted to be a lawyer or the general manager of the Braves.
What do you do to relax when you’re stressed?
I watch a Braves game or spend time with my daughter.
If you could meet any well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why?
Dolly Parton. She is my shero — we both came from rural Appalachia. She is truly a businesswoman who operated from kindness.
What is Atlanta’s best-kept secret?
Kaisers chophouse for restaurants and the Sope Creek Trail.
What do you love most about the industry?
It is the biggest financial decision most folks make. It is also the best way to build real wealth for folks. It is the reason I have what I have.
How do you distinguish yourself from the crowd of agents?
Honest strategy. I have never been a “fake it till I make it.” I am real, and people are attracted to it.
What is the most difficult aspect of your job?
Telling folks the hard truth. It is our duty to be honest and have the best solutions.
What’s your best advice for generating new leads?
Take the business you have to create leads through neighbors, clients, SOI and self promotion if getting the job done. Five years ago anyone could sell a house, now actually doing what your clients are asking you to do can be enough to get another piece of business.
What are you binge-watching/reading/listening to lately?
I’m binge-watching Dutton Ranch and the Braves. I’m reading anything around private equity and buying real estate businesses.
What’s your favorite meal in Atlanta?
Kaiser’s Chophouse: mussels and Dover sole. It is the perfect meal to share or sit at the bar and enjoy!
Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Atlanta?
Truist Park! It is a well thought-out spot, even when there isn’t a game happening. It is the envy of all of sports.
What’s the weirdest thing that’s ever happened to you on the job?
Where do I start? I have met a one-eyed cat named Mocha that his were selling their home to pay for his medical bills. I’ve had folks hold a seance as part of due diligence. Real estate is wild!
What’s one thing people are surprised to learn about you?
I go to bed early and need my sleep! I play hard all day, and I like to be in bed by nine.
What is your favorite vacation spot and why?
I love to go to my lake house in Blue Ridge and host all my friends and family. Hawaii is a close second…
