The Coldwell Banker Realty Cares Foundation donated $75,000 to Backpack Buddies of Metro Atlanta to provide local food-insecure children with weekend meals.

The Cares Foundation, Coldwell Banker’s charitable arm, will also serve as the presenting sponsor of Backpack Buddies’ 2026 Starry Nights Gala, the nonprofit’s annual fundraiser.

Backpack Buddies currently provides weekend food bags to approximately 3,000 children every week in 53 metro Atlanta Title I schools.

Coldwell Banker has been a major contributor to Backpack Buddies since 2023 when it made its first $75,000 donation, the largest the organization had received at the time.

“We are deeply grateful for the Coldwell Banker Realty Cares Foundation’s strong commitment to our mission,” Backpack Buddies CEO Denise Bjurholm said. “Their generosity extends far beyond a sponsorship; it is an investment in the health, well-being and future of children across our community. Because of partners like Coldwell Banker Realty Cares Foundation, we are able to reach more children than ever before and move closer to our vision of ensuring no child goes hungry over the weekend.”

Sherry Noles, Coldwell Banker’s Atlanta regional vice president, added, “We are proud to continue to give to Backpack Buddies of Metro Atlanta. Their work creates immediate impact while building a stronger future for our community. We are honored to be a small part of their mission and celebrate the difference they make in the lives of local children and families.”

The Starry Nights Gala will be held at Dunwoody Country Club on Aug. 29.
