Sales were up in Atlanta both by volume and number of units sold in June, according to Georgia MLS.

The number of units sold jumped 35.2% from the previous month to 7,298. That figure is just 3.3% lower than June 2019 sales.

Sales volume was up 39.3% from the previous month to $2.41 billion. New listings were also up (5.1%) in June from the previous month for a combined 9,483 units.

A press release from Georgia MLS called the trends “encouraging.”

“The Atlanta Metropolitan 12 County Region monthly statistics for June show the Atlanta real estate marketplace is active and the consumer interest is strong heading into the summer months,” Georgia MLS noted in the press release.

Listings under contract were also up in June from the previous month, increasing 16.1% for a total of 11,162. Contract listings were up 15.8% year over year.

A tight inventory got even tighter in June, dropping 11.4% to 13,596 for the 12-county region. That figure was down 26.4% year over year.

The median sales price for a home in the 12-county area inched up 3.1% month over month in June to $278,250. That increase was 4.6% year over year.
