Sisters Stephanie Butler and Lisa Swayne grew up with a single mom who worked for IBM. “She was always busy or running late because of work or meetings,” they share. “We both wanted to have the option to be home more when raising our families and real estate seemed like the perfect flexible career.”
As children, the girls were raised to “figure things out.” They were taught to work hard, save their money and finish what they start—so they jumped into their real estate careers with the intent to be the best. When the opportunity presented itself for the sisters to create a team, they realized they had to go for it.
In the years since, Butler and Swayne have hand-selected a team of committed and talented agents who always put clients’ needs first. Their team includes Laura Falk, the first team member who now works for the Butler Swayne Team in Charleston, S.C.; Gianna Whisler Amneteg, an analytic and loyal agent; Gay Donnelly, known for her velvet-glove service; Tracey Hawkins, who’s referred to as the “sunshine” of the team; and Carol Coffman, the newest member of the team who works in the community of Big Canoe.
The sisters describe their team as bulldogs—they’re compassionate, strategic, witty and always ready to solve problems. Their clients know they will take care of them, no matter the curveballs that arise during complicated transactions.
The Butler Swayne Team has been recognized as Top Producers for Berkshire Hathaway and has been among the top-producing teams in the state for more than seven years, earning spots in the Chairman’s Circle Diamond rank. “We have a team because the culture of our group is solid,” they say. “We had some bumps and bruises throughout our 20 years, but we are together because it works. Our team doesn’t need to be large to be mighty.”
