Fred Curry, Vice President of Mortgage Lending

Guaranteed Rate Affinity NMLS # 1903942

Known for his patience and empathy, Fred Curry understands what it’s like to be on the other side of buying a home, carrying that knowledge with him every day. “Many loan officers forget that customers do not live and breathe mortgages all day, every day, like we do,” he explains. “I understand this and accept the fact that I may have to explain details more than a few times.”

Curry spent 17 years in finance and data analytics roles before transitioning into the lending industry six years ago. Now, as vice president of mortgage lending with Guaranteed Rate Affinity, he works as a renovation loan specialist, offering down payment assistance programs, investor and home equity loans, and FHA, VA, conventional and USDA loans. “I can’t think of anything more fulfilling than helping people achieve their dreams through homeownership or investing,” he shares.

Ranked third among new company loan officers last year, Curry is part of a team that prioritizes collaboration and support. “I treat all my clients and referral partners with the utmost respect and fairness,” he notes. “I consistently review my process to ensure I’m providing the best service possible.”

An avid supporter of his fraternity, Alpha Phi Alpha, Curry chairs a mentoring program for young men through Raising Expectations, a nonprofit organization. Serving as his chapter’s director of educational activities, he is responsible for the chapter’s scholarship program throughout metro Atlanta. One of his favorite volunteer activities is feeding the unhoused at Trinity United Methodist Church.

Curry loves cooking and traveling with his family, naming New Orleans as his top domestic destination and Jamaica as his favorite international location. After recently visiting Greece and Brazil, Costa Rica is next on his travel list.
