Return-to-work mandates have been on the rise since the pandemic, but they are far from universal, as remote and hybrid options remain prevalent.
For those able to take advantage of a hybrid schedule, Atlanta is the place to be, according to a new study by Yardi’s flexible-workspace subsidiary, Hubble.
Looking at 20 factors affecting hybrid work, including workspace access, labor market, commute and mobility, quality of life and cost of living, Hubble ranked Atlanta No. 1 for hybrid workability among U.S. cities with populations over 100,000.
“Atlanta comfortably claimed the top spot on the strength of its hybrid workspace market and infrastructure,” Hubble said. “Big employers in addition to the City of Atlanta are sticking to a mix of in-office attendance and remote work, boosting demand for hybrid infrastructure and cementing the future of hybrid as a mainstay here.”
Atlanta boasts the highest coworking density of 41.7 spaces per 100,000 residents, and with monthly coworking memberships averaging $199 vs. the national median of $220, the city is relatively affordable, too, according to the study.
Atlanta also has the best park-density score in the South and, with 5,567 hybrid-compatible businesses per 100,000 residences, there are plenty of opportunities.
