In one of its more recent reports, analytics website Niche ranked Roswell among the top 10 places to live in all of Metro Atlanta.

That ranking came as no accident – as we detail below, the Fulton County community has many things going for it, all of which have contributed to its strong housing market.

1. Safety Par Excellence – Roswell is one of the safest communities in Georgia, according to a recent analysis of FBI statistics. With only 1.15 violent crimes and 18.76 property crimes per every 1,000 residents, the community came in at No. 10.

Furthermore, the United States by City Crime Rankings placed Roswell among the safest safest areas in the whole country, placing 18th among 371 cities.

2. An Affluent, Luxurious Community – Roswell’s luxury housing market is among the top-performing in the area – according to numbers we compiled, the average luxury sale price in the community is up 14.4 percent in the last year to $970,000 – and given the area’s affluence, that is hardly surprising.

According to the Census Bureau, the median income in Roswell is a very impressive $87,080, with 24.3 percent of residents earning between $100,000 and $149,999 each year; furthermore, 6.9 percent earn between $150,000 and $199,999, and 11 percent earn more than $200,000.

3. The Great Outdoors – Metro Atlanta features innumerable parks and public spaces, and Roswell contributes beautifully to those standards. In addition to the 127-acre Chattahoochee Nature Center (which we spotlighted as one of the area’s top five family-friendly parks), the Roswell Recreation and Park department oversees eight public-use parks with a combined 900 acres of space. Even more, those spaces host such events as the Roswell Arts Festival, the Roswell Roots Festival and the Roswell Youth Day Parade.

4. A Welcoming Space for Families – Finally, with all the aforementioned qualities, Roswell has been honored as one of Atlanta’s best places for families, and in multiple publications. It was selected as one of the three best cities to raise a family in the Best Place to Raise Your Family text from Frommer’s, and a RealtyTrac analysis selected Sweet Apple Elementary as the area’s sixth-best grade school.
