Niche recently ranked the best suburbs in Atlanta for millennials based on median housing and rent prices, income and safety.
North Druid Hills ranks No. 1 according to Niche, with an overall grade of “A” and with special attention to nightlife, diversity and family as its main selling points. The median household income in North Druid Hills is $55,694, just slightly above the national median. Around 38 percent of residents own property, and the median home value is $311,000, almost double the national median. At 63 percent, the majority of residents rent property with a median rent price of $1,204.
Close behind North Druid Hills at No. 2 is Vinings with a population of 11,816. Median household income in Vinings is much higher at $75,451, but median rent prices are only $1,144. Despite lower rent prices and a higher median income, Vinings has roughly the same percentage of owners as North Druid Hills. But in Vinings, median home values are more appropriately adjusted at $397,600.
