The Atlanta Realtors Association released its February Market Brief, which showed that 3,464 homes were sold last month, a whopping 16.9 percent increase over January 2019’s figure, which was 2,963.

Median sales prices rose 3.5 percent from $264,000 in February over $255,000 for January. But the average sales price in February was $319,000 versus $318,000 in January, a change of only 0.3%.

Gwinnett County won the month with 700 units sold, followed by Fulton (629); Cobb (601) and DeKalb (457). The medium sales price for a home in Fulton County was $311,000, with the average sales price being $412,000. Cobb County showed a median sales price of $287,000 with the average price being $329,000.

“There are increasing numbers of sellers in the Atlanta Market over this time in 2018 that have helped keep options available for buyers,” said Atlanta Realtors President DeAnn Golden. “Home sales are generally slower right now, however, due to the tighter availability of listings than in recent years, with median and average home prices reflecting that pressure and rising at a healthy, steady pace.”
