Managing Broker of the Year: Scott Askew, Engel & Völkers

by Atlanta Agent

Born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, Scott Askew is undoubtedly a true Atlantan. Across his four decades in the real estate industry, he’s harnessed his knowledge of the unique neighborhoods that punctuate the city to deliver an exceptional client experience. Scott’s career began soon after graduating from the University of Georgia in 1978, when he joined his father’s brokerage, Askew Realty Co. as a sales associate. Within a few years of honing his skills and driving desired results for clients, Scott acquired the firm in 1982, and in 1995, he was fortunate enough to acquire Fourteen West, REALTORS®, one of the dominant residential real estate firm’s in the Intown marketplace, which eventually became Engel & Völkers Intown Atlanta in 2014.

In 2020, Engel & Völkers Intown Atlanta joined forces with Engel & Völkers Atlanta, where Scott presently serves as qualifying broker. As a veteran in the business, Scott brings a strong sense of the market, an invaluable perspective on the buying and selling process, and sharp business acumen to the firm, which continues to be one of the fastest growing in Atlanta. His leadership is opening the door to new business development opportunities that will further position the firm as a dominant brokerage in the industry.

Known for his keen interest in the community, Scott has also ignited a spirit of philanthropy at the firm, spearheading Engel & Völkers Atlanta’s involvement in several initiatives across Atlanta. He is a former President of the Atlanta REALTORS® Association and was honored with the Sally Washburn Lifetime Achievement Award in 2013. In 2018, he was named “Most Admired CEO” for the Residential Real Estate sector by the Atlanta Business Chronicle. His core values and commitment to his career have propelled him forward and set higher standards for those around him as he leads the next generation of top producing realtors.

“This award is nothing short of an honor and offers a moment to reflect. Building and leading successful brokerages requires tenacity, passion and forethought, and after the year our industry has just experienced, this could not be more true. Our firm’s ability to pivot and adapt accordingly has strengthened our resolve to continue making a way for our diverse clientele, whether buyers looking for the perfect forever homes or developers launching the communities that will define our cities for years to come. As we set our sights on more growth, I look forward to helping lead the charge.”  — Scott Askew
