Moremi Wolcott Realtor, Maximum One Realty - East Cobb

What was your most interesting job before going into real estate?

Makeup artist for movie companies

Where did you grow up?

Bankhead, and then my mom got into house flipping and we ended up living in Sandy Springs until I graduated high school.

Growing up, what did you want to be?

Like my mom, helping the underprivileged get homes.

What do you do to relax when you’re stressed?

I love yoga and meditation, although, to be honest, I’m a little too into horoscopes.

If you could meet any well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why?

Muhammad Ali. He was such an inspiration in his own way to change the world. I aspire to revolutionize real estate and to make it more accessible for everyone.

What is Atlanta’s best-kept secret?

The Battery! I love it. I guess it’s because I lived in the area for over 20 years, and the very first sporting event my dad took me too was the Braves back at Turner Field.

What do you love most about the industry?

I love sharing information and creating homeowners. Seeing the reaction of how much my clients have made when selling their home puts me in my happy place.

How do you distinguish yourself from the crowd of agents?

I would do this for free, and I definitely have a few times. I wake up dreaming real estate. I’m a single black mother, and I was told by a judge when I was evicted that I should have sold my body to make the rent if I had no other way of paying it. I made the decision right there in that courtroom to became a Realtor. Not for the money, but I promised God if he had saved us in that moment, he could use me to save a family like mine one day.

What is the most difficult aspect of your job?

Evictions. I have a personal history with that horrible process of choosing food or bills, especially with a child to look after. It made me feel so guilty the first few times I’ve served clients that 60-day notice. However, I have looked after every single person to ensure the best outcome possible.

What’s your best advice for generating new leads?

Social media and Facebook leads/Google ads
