Jasmine Harris Realtor, Keller Williams Realty Atlanta Partners - Tucker

What was your most interesting job before going into real estate?

I was an event manager for an international company. I managed events all over North America at venues like Carnegie Hall and Guaranteed Rate Field.

Where did you grow up?

Decatur

Growing up, what did you want to be?

A radio personality

What do you do to relax when you’re stressed?

Drink wine, read and shop with my daughter. Sometimes all at the same time!

If you could meet any well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why?

Judy Smith. The ABC show “Scandal” was based on her. Besides the fact that she’s a total bad ass, her ability to see all the pieces, think 15 steps ahead and strategically maneuver through ANY situation, is more than admirable. She’d probably kill it in real estate!

What is Atlanta’s best-kept secret?

Me. Then the East Palisades Trail.

What do you love most about the industry?

I truly believe in the legacy and promise of home ownership as a path to creating generational wealth. The fact that I am able to help so many people realize their dreams is fulfilling and rewarding. It never gets old!

How do you distinguish yourself from the crowd of agents?

My clients mean more to me than a commission check. We’re all in the business to make money, but I actually give a damn. I treat all my clients with the same level of respect, attentiveness and care, no matter their budget.

What is the most difficult aspect of your job?

Managing buyer expectations, especially now that everyone is experiencing sticker shock.

What’s your best advice for generating new leads?

Talk to everyone, everywhere you go. Every single person you encounter throughout your day needs to know you’re an agent. Also, leverage relationships with the people who routinely get your business: Your doctor, your dentist, your dry cleaner, your lawn-maintenance company, etc. Build a referral network.

What are you binge-watching/reading/listening to lately?

I’m reading The Psychology of Money by Morgan Housel and watching Inventing Anna on Netflix.

What’s your favorite meal in Atlanta?

Cafe Lily in Downtown Decatur. Appetizer: Calamari a la Plancha. Main: Moroccan jerk chicken. Dessert: Tiramisu (the best in Atlanta).

Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Atlanta?

The Buckhead library

What’s the weirdest thing that’s ever happened to you on the job?

Honestly, nothing too crazy or weird has happened to me.

What’s one thing people are surprised to learn about you?

When people hear me talk, they think because my voice is a little raspy and deep that I can sing. The gag is, I’m tone deaf and sound like a wounded animal when I try.

What is your favorite vacation spot and why?

I love the beach. As long as the water is blue, and the weather is warm, I don’t care where the beach is located. I’m a summer baby and water sign. Water has always grounded me. When I need a reset, I hit the beach!

What is your favorite city after Atlanta?

Berlin

In 10 words or less, what is your advice for someone new to the industry?

Don’t be a secret agent.

What’s your favorite real estate iPhone/Android app?

RPR

Who are your favorite people to follow on social media?

@domorealty because I’m obsessed with mid-century modern homes, @Serenberealestate because their designs and interiors are so unique and @livelovememphis because her content is amazing.
