When fully developed, the master-planned community will also have more than 250 apartments, 220,000 square feet of institutional senior living facilities and 106,000 square feet of office, retail and entertainment space and be valued at more than $400 million, Green Brick Partners said in a press release.

A Green Brick subsidiary, the Providence Group of Georgia, will oversee all development of the master-planned community and exclusively build the detached and attached homes.

“This project is a model for a vibrant, community-oriented mixed-use development,” said Lamar Wakefield, national practice leader for mixed use with NELSON Architecture, which led the project’s master planning and design. “We see this project having a huge halo effect for the Cumming area, by bringing all components to enhance quality of life, including retail, parks, entertainment venues, along with a mix of homes and apartments.”

Work on Sawnee Village is expected to begin early this summer.
