The 122-unit Avondale Townhomes in Decatur was recently sold for $8.2 million.

Lightwater Capital Investments sold the property, located at 1055 Holcombe Road, to Browns Bridge GP LLC. GREA represented Lightwater in the transaction.

The community was built in 1972 and features a mix of two- and three-bedroom townhomes. Think Multifamily plans to continue renovating unit interiors, which are about 50% complete, GREA said. Community amenities include a swimming pool, playground and picnic areas.

“Both the buyer and seller were able to find a win in this transaction despite difficult market conditions,” GREA founding partner Barden Brown said. “GREA was proud to represent the seller of Avondale Townhomes and wish the buyer the best as they execute their renovation plan.”
