Franklin Street brings on Marcus & Millichap multifamily team

by John Yellig

Franklin Street recently expanded its Atlanta apartment-investment segment with the hiring of a Marcus & Millichap multifamily sales team led by industry veteran John McCalla.

In his new role, McCalla will serve as managing director and co-lead his group with senior director Mason Taylor. Sales associates Jake Fushimi and Andrew Dailidonis are coming to Franklin Street, too, as are several supporting team members.

Over the last year, the McCalla team arranged the sale of almost 7,000 apartment units worth $674 million in Atlanta and the Southeast, Franklin Street said in a release.

“John, Mason and their team are known in the market not only for their impressive production numbers, but their strong commitment to client service and high standard for excellence — two things that are extremely important to us as we continue to grow nationally,” Franklin Street CEO Matthew Harrell said. “We are proud to welcome them to our team and are confident this partnership will be a great success.”

McCalla began his commercial real estate career in 2006 with Marcus & Millichap. In 2010, he joined Berkadia as a founding member of the firm’s Atlanta office. He later returned to Marcus & Millichap, where in 2021 he received the firm’s top broker honor, the Circle of Excellence award.

Taylor began his career in financial analysis with CBRE before he joined McCalla’s team at Marcus & Millichap, where he was named Rookie of the Year at the firm’s Atlanta office in 2020.

Dailidonis worked in business analytics at CBRE before joining Marcus & Millichap, while Fushimi worked at UPS and 11-11 Investments.

“We look forward to continuing to grow our team and market share with Franklin Street, while leveraging the firm’s full-service platform, industry leading technology and collaborative approach to succeed for our clients,” McCalla said.
