Work at the 21-story Stella at Star Metals residential tower recently began after the developer secured a $100 million construction loan.

Stella, which will have 327 class AA+ apartments, is the third phase of Star Metals District, the $1.5 billion mixed-use, urban-renewal project on Atlanta’s Westside. Its construction follows completion of the previous phases, Star Metals Offices, which has 270,000 square feet of office space, and Sentral at Star Metals, which has 409 residences.

Stella will offer 25,000 square feet of ground-floor retail, anchored by restaurant concepts from Michelin-awarded Grass Fed Culture and Fishmonger, as well as a two-story bar on the 17th floor. The tower will also feature rolling green roofs and terraced gardens. A seventh-floor infinity pool with private cabanas, an indoor-outdoor gym, theatre-style screening room and other amenities will also be available to residents.

Most of the apartments will be above the sixth floor to provide unobstructed views via floor-to-ceiling windows. Other residence amenities include Italian cabinetry, stone countertops, six- to 14-foot balconies, some of which will be garden-wrapped, and 10-foot ceilings.

The developer, The Allen Morris Company of Coral Gables, Florida, expects move-ins to begin in first quarter 2025. In December, the company purchased 3.3 acres adjacent to Stella and Star Metals Offices where the next three phases of the development are planned. When completed, Star Metals will encompass about three million square feet of space.

The construction financing for Stella was syndicated by Santander Bank and TD Bank. Brasfield & Gorrie Construction Company, which recently completed Star Metals Offices, will serve as general contractor and oversee all construction.
