Rachel Lipszyc Realtor/Managing Partner

Azure Realty

What was your most interesting job before going into real estate?
Being a paralegal at a real estate law firm.
Where did you grow up?
Sandy Springs
Growing up, what did you want to be?
A stenographer.
What do you do to relax when you’re stressed?
Go out with friends, shop and watch the Toronto Maple Leafs hockey games!
If you could meet any well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why?
Chris Voss because his experience as a hostage negotiator fascinates me. His ability to use those tactics in everyday settings seems like a sure-fire recipe for success if you only master it.
What is Atlanta’s best-kept secret?
Activate Arcade is so much fun for various groups and occasions. Hanging out around Buckhead Village for a drink with friends is also great.
What do you love most about the industry?
The flexibility of your schedule and endless opportunities both in the business and money-wise!
How do you distinguish yourself from the crowd of agents?
By being open minded to trying new trends and marketing ideas. I don’t limit myself to processes that have been around for years on end that larger brokerages tend to be restricted by.
What is the most difficult aspect of your job?
Setting boundaries and earning the trust of new clients who don’t know me and the quality of my work.
What’s your best advice for generating new leads?
I’m still learning! But so far, just being honest and laying out the options for each client as I speak with them. Referrals from those who know you are great, since there’s already a level of existing trust. You just need to nurture it.
What are you binge-watching/reading/listening to lately?
Ted Lasso. All my coworkers told me to watch it years ago, but I only started it now. I should’ve listened to them before!
What’s your favorite meal in Atlanta?
It’s not a meal, but getting a smoothie from Arden’s Garden and finding a new outdoor spot to enjoy it in is always exciting.
Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Atlanta?
Mercedes-Benz Stadium, hands down. I went on a public tour of it, and they took us all over to show us the various art installations and intricacies involved in the architecture. I was in awe! The Marriott Marquis downtown is a close second. I love the inside.
What’s the weirdest thing that’s ever happened to you on the job?
Right at the beginning of my career, I got a Redfin lead that all other agents in the area apparently passed on. It was a buyer who ended up having me show them several multi-million dollar homes. It was such a cool experience but one that I had not been fully prepared for at the time. We’re ready now. 😉
What’s one thing people are surprised to learn about you?
That despite being born and raised in Atlanta, I love hockey.
What is your favorite vacation spot and why?
I went to Paris and London this past summer, and I would be so content if those were the only places I ever visited again. Seeing the different cultures, accents and way of living is fascinating!
What is your favorite city after Atlanta?
I love going back to Toronto. It’s an awesome city with so much to see and do.
In 10 words or less, what is your advice for someone new to the industry?
Meet with other agents and hear what works for them.
What’s your favorite real estate iPhone/Android app?
Camscanner is pretty great in helping me get documents to clients and professionals efficiently.
Who are your favorite people to follow on social media?
The Broker Agent, Kate Wright and MorningBrew.
What are your social media handles?
@RacheltheRealtorATL (Instagram) or Rachel Lipszyc (Linkedin and Facebook)
