Toro Development Company is set to break ground on Overlook, a 301-apartment community within Cumming City Center, later this month.
The firm has closed on the land and secured financing from Pinnacle Financial Partners. EBSCO Real Estate, based in Birmingham, Alabama, is the equity partner on the project.
Amenities will include a resort-style pool, fitness center, courtyard and social courtyard spaces, sky lounge, micro-offices and dog park. The first units are expected to be delivered in fall 2027.
“Our mixed-use and multifamily experience consistently proves that feet on the street drives the success of other uses,” said John Kelley, Toro’s chief development officer. “Overlook will harness the existing energy at Cumming City Center, while also powering the continued momentum of the overall mixed-use community.”
Toro is currently working on Medley, a $560 million, 43-acre mixed-use community in Johns Creek. Medley, which opens on Oct. 29, features 164,000 square feet of retail, restaurant and entertainment space, 110,000 square feet of offices, a 150-key hotel, 883 apartments and townhomes and a 25,000-square-foot plaza.
