As a mortgage specialist at Mortgage Atlanta LLC, Brian Berman knows that buying a house is a personal process and he promises to have his clients’ back at all times. “We want our clients to know that we are going through the process with them,” he says. With a focus on homebuyers, many of whom are referrals from agents and former clients, Berman takes an educational approach, ensuring that both his client and their agent have the information they need from the start.
“We normally give our clients four to five different options, then take the time to review the pros and cons of each,” he explains, adding that his diligence has earned him the trust of top agents in the area.
Specializing in self-employed borrowers and veterans, Berman has a knack for understanding clients with complicated tax returns. “I don’t just turn down the loan and move on,” he says. “I will print out a 300-page tax return and spread it all over the floor in order to figure out my client’s qualifying income.”
Along with his colleagues, Berman continues to be at the forefront of the industry. “A few years ago, we implemented a process called TruQual, which allows us to fully approve a borrower before they start looking for a house,” he says. “With TruQual, our buyers are 100 percent confident in their ability to get a loan and can make more aggressive offers.”
Berman and his team are multiyear recipients of the Atlanta Mortgage Bankers Association’s Diamond Award and were featured among the Mortgage Professionals America magazine’s Hot 100 and the National Mortgage News’ Top Producers of 2019. Berman is a member of the Atlanta Mortgage Bankers Association and Mortgage Bankers Association of Georgia.
Berman attributes his ongoing determination and success to his wife’s support and his desire to provide for his kids. In his spare time, he loves to go to Falcons games with his family.
