What was your most interesting job before going into real estate?

Branch manager for a national food-service company

Where did you grow up?

Marietta/Smyrna. I’m a Cobb County native.

Growing up, what did you want to be?

CEO/President of a Fortune 500 company. My degree was in business management.

What do you do to relax when you’re stressed?

Take a cruise or listen to music on my iPod.

If you could meet any well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why?

Barack Obama because the knowledge would be valuable, or Maya Angelou because the inspiration her words bring would be valuable to hear in person.

What is Atlanta’s best-kept secret?

The Battery, Fernbank IMAX Theatre and the Dekalb Farmers Market

What do you love most about the industry?

I love being part of a very important and memorable time in a family’s life. No one else can can do this for them and to me, that’s an honor.

How do you distinguish yourself from the crowd of agents?

My listening skills, attention to detail and patience have propelled me to the level of success I have experienced so far.

What is the most difficult aspect of your job?

Working with unethical agents who don’t have their clients’ best interests at heart.

I pride myself on placing the client’s best interest first because that’s what brings you constant referrals.

What’s your best advice for generating new leads?

Do not be a secret agent. Always be selling. Your family and sphere of influence are a good place to start.

What are you binge-watching/reading/listening to lately?

Anything on Netflix

What’s your favorite meal in Atlanta?

Gumbeaux’s in Douglasville

Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Atlanta?

Fox Theatre and the Mercedes-Benz Stadium

What’s the weirdest thing that’s ever happened to you on the job?

I was showing a home once that was infested with fleas, and when I got outside, my khaki pants were covered with them, so I had to take off my pants to get rid of them. Don’t want them in my house.

What’s one thing people are surprised to learn about you?

That I was in the U.S. Navy.

What is your favorite vacation spot and why?

The Philippines because my wife is from there.

Marietta

Get a mentor and affiliate yourself with a good, accessible broker.
