CARROLL promotes investment leader

by John Yellig

Atlanta-based real estate investor CARROLL promoted Rob Lester, senior managing director of capital markets and investments, to head of investment management as it embarks on a “robust” growth plan.

Lester, a former investment banker with more than 25 years of real estate, capital markets and investment experience at Blackstone/Park Hill Real Estate, Macquarie Capital and Brookfield, joined CARROLL in 2022 to lead its capital markets activities.

In his new role, Lester will lead CARROLL’s investment, asset management, development, capital markets and investor relations teams while helping the firm develop and execute its growth strategy. He will be directly responsible for growing CARROLL’s U.S. residential real estate footprint, asset management and worldwide growth of its capital markets function. Lester will also manage the firm’s recently launched recovery fund, Carroll Credit, which aims to provide capital to Sunbelt multifamily owners.

“This appointment reflects the next generation of leadership at the firm,” CARROLL founder Patrick Carroll said in a press release. “Rob and our President/COO David Perez have both played critical roles in our success, and this new alignment bolsters the already impressive credentials of the leadership team guiding the organization. Both are proven leaders and managers, and I look forward to seeing them continue to accelerate the growth of the CARROLL platform.”
