Arizona-based land company Walton Global acquired 327 acres on Cascade Palmetto Highway in South Fulton County, where it plans to develop 600 residential lots.

The new project, known as Cascade, will be developed in phases.

Walton said the acquisition reflects its strategy of investing in locations “primed for growth and development.”  The assemblage is just south of Campbellton, at the intersection with Ridge Road and near the West Fulton Commerce Park.

“As we continue to expand our portfolio, we are excited about the Cascade project, as it embodies our commitment to quality and sustainability,” Walton Senior Vice President Shane Doherty said in a press release. “We are dedicated to ensuring the project is seamlessly integrated into the local landscape and provides a boost to the housing market.”

Walton is a land-asset manager with holdings of more than $4 billion in more than 86 countries. It is an active player in suburban Atlanta real estate, assembling and selling large tracts to developers. Earlier this year, it sold 58.9 acres of the 184-acre Sugarloaf Crossing master-planned community in Gwinnett County to an undisclosed builder and has unloaded other assets, including The Reserve at Liberty Park and Liberty Crossing in Braselton.
