Coldwell Banker Atlanta
Jane McAuley was born to sell Atlanta. Even while working at CNN International, new employees moving to her hometown continually sought her advice about where to live.
Whether it was a family looking for a paradise in suburbia, or a single professional eager to settle in Midtown, Jane could always steer them to the right neighborhood to fit their lifestyle and budget. Top network executives and workers fresh out of college alike came to Jane for suggestions on where to live, shop and play. Becoming a Realtor was a natural progression for the Atlanta native. “I had my very first listing under contract, over list price, in less than a day. I hit the ground running and haven’t slowed down since!” she says.
Jane’s innate knowledge of the area isn’t the only reason her business continues to grow. Her clients know she saves them money. “I don’t do a lot of marketing – almost all of my business is referral-based,” Jane says. Financially savvy in all regards, she has earned respect as a fierce negotiator who consistently seals great deals. “I have a reputation for being very protective of my clients’ money. I don’t want anyone to ever overpay or leave money on the table. I think it’s something that my clients really appreciate, no matter how much money they have.” Long after the sale, clients continue to rely on Jane as a great resource.
Jane is consistently a top producer in her company, with more than 70 million in sales in a just a decade in the business. She has been honored with membership in the Coldwell Banker International Diamond Society and International President’s Circle. It is clear she has found her true calling. Capitalizing on her journalism background and love of people, Jane sticks to the facts when assessing properties and shields her clientele from stressful negotiations. “I try to solve issues behind-the-scenes and calmly devise solutions for those inevitable bumps in the road,” says the Florida State University graduate. Just as she did in her reporting days, Jane keeps her composure and easy-going attitude, an essential quality, during tense situations. Her strategy has paid off in countless return clients who know Jane will fight to get them the house of their dreams and meet their price expectations.
Jane relishes her role of helping people through placing them in perfect places to live. “I realized that what I had loved about the news business was talking to people about what was changing in their lives. It’s the same thing I do in real estate – talk to people about what their next move is and help them get there.” Whether her clients are looking for a luxury home or downsizing to a townhouse, they appreciate her honest, candid style and dedication to her calling. “I feel so fortunate to have found what I love,” she says. “Helping people fulfill their real estate dreams is an awesome responsibility, and one that I don’t take lightly.”
