Shelly Bloom, a seasoned Realtor with 37 years of experience, has given her heart and soul to the active-adult communities of Northeast Atlanta. At 75, Bloom’s tagline is “Playing with People My Own Age.” She specializes in single-family homes, duplexes and quadplexes in The Village at Deaton Creek, Del Webb Chateau Elan, Cresswind Twin Lakes and Cresswind Lake Lanier. Plus, other area active adult communities. “I live close by, and they trust me,” she shares. “I have a philosophy in my community: If I do a good job, they know where I live. If I mess up, they still know where I live!”
Bloom’s diverse background, from working in her family’s women’s clothing stores to her role in politics, has enriched her professional journey. “I owned a sign manufacturing company,” she recalls. “I ran a state senator’s office. I design crystal produced in the Czech Republic (I still own that company). They all require fulfilling clients’ needs in a timely manner.”
2023 Career highlights include being inducted into Virtual Properties Realty’s (VPR) Hall of Fame and ranking among United Real Estate’s Top 100 agents nationwide. “Residents in my community have told me they put me in their wills, instructing their children to call me to list their homes if something happens to them,” she relays. “I couldn’t ask for a nicer compliment!”
Bloom supports numerous nonprofits. After 21 years of involvement with the Georgia 2-Day Walk for Breast Cancer, much to her surprise, she’s been inducted into its 2023 Hall of Fame. In her downtime, she indulges in the therapeutic power of laughter through — no joke — stand-up comedy.
“Find a niche market — something that you truly love,” she advises aspiring Realtors. “You’ll do more business in a niche market than trying to be everything to everyone.”
