Che'Von Benton, Realtor, Progress Residential

Che’Von Benton, a Realtor with Progress Residential.

What was your first job in the realty industry? Fresh out of testing, I signed up with Keller Williams Gold Coast in Chicago and my landlord gave me all of his properties to sell.

Where did you grow up? On the south side of Chicago.

What do you do to relax when you’re stressed? I meditate while listening to music.

Growing up, what did you want to be? I wanted to be a surgeon, but I discovered in high school that the sight of blood makes me weak.

If you could have lunch with a well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why? Richard Bronson. He has achieved a level of greatness I have been trying to achieve my entire adult life and I want to know all of his secrets.

Where is your favorite place to hang out? In my bedroom. My life is so hectic and busy that my bedroom allows me to shut out the world.

What do you love most about the industry? I get such satisfaction when I see the look on the face of my client after they have found their dream home. I do not let my clients settle for less than what they want.

How do you distinguish yourself from the crowd of agents? I am always available, no matter what time of day or night. I am at my clients’ side answering questions and helping them any way I can, within reason.

What is the most difficult aspect of your job? Keeping a balance between my work and personal life. I love my job, and I would work 24 hours a day if my body allowed it, but I love my family and I do not want to neglect them while I am working so hard to ensure their lives are easier.

Where do you go to network and meet new clients? I get a lot of my clients from social media. I join groups and bombard them with real estate tidbits.

What has been your greatest accomplishment thus far? Raising my two daughters on my own with no help.

What was the last good movie you saw or book you read? I recently saw a movie called “Hush.”

What is your favorite restaurant? Fogo de Chão is my all time favorite restaurant.

Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Atlanta? Aquarius Tower

What kind of car do you drive? A Tahoe Denali XL.

Smartphone or paper? Smartphone

What is your favorite city after Atlanta? That would be Los Angeles.

In 10 words or less, what is your advice for someone new to the industry? Get a seasoned mentor.

What’s your favorite real estate iPhone/Android app? Supra eKey

Who is your favorite person to follow on Twitter? Oprah Winfrey
