Agent Snapshot: Jaime Turner, Real Estate Advisor/License Partner, Engel & Volkers

Name: Jaime Turner

Title: Real Estate Advisor/License Partner

Company: Engel & Völkers North Atlanta

What was your first job in the realty industry? Virtual Assistant to Cynthia Lippert, who is now my partner. I wanted a part-time, work-from-home job. Flash Forward to NOW – I have an all-the-time, work-from-everywhere job!

Where did you grow up? Noblesville, Indiana – just north of Indianapolis

Growing up, what did you want to be? Growing up, I wanted to be a veterinarian or a doctor. It wasn’t until I was out of college that I realized my true passion is in connecting people and making people feel at home.

What do you do to relax when you’re stressed? When I’m stressed, I love to listen to a fictional book on Audible – my escape!

If you could have lunch with a well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why? I would have loved to meet Queen Elizabeth I – what a remarkable woman, and what an incredible era during which she reigned!

Where is your favorite place to hang out? I love to hang out in our office. I absolutely love every single advisor we have hired. They are all kind, smart, and hilarious. We all have a great time together.

What do you love most about the industry? The real estate industry keeps me on my toes. I learn new things and meet new people every day – it’s fascinating!

How do you distinguish yourself from the crowd of agents? I’ve had years of corporate business experience. I understand that business is about long-term relationships. I’m extremely local and community-based. It’s not only about finding a house for clients, it’s about understanding their family dynamics and finding the right community for them. From a listing perspective, I have a degree in Marketing. I embrace technology, and I’m truly passionate about the marketing process.

What is the most difficult aspect of your job? Delegation – realizing that I cannot do it all myself!

Where do you go to network and meet new clients? Most of my clients come to me through referrals of past clients. I’d say that I’ve met a good number of clients through my children’s sports and school activities. It’s a natural fit for my community-driven business.

What has been your greatest accomplishment? Personally, definitely my family. I am so proud of my husband, our son, and our daughter. Professionally, opening our Engel & Völkers North Atlanta office at the Avenue East Cobb.

What was the last good movie you saw or book you read? Wonder – both the book and the movie!

What is your favorite restaurant? Restaurant Eugene in Midtown

Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Atlanta? Emory University’s Michael C. Carlos Museum by architect Michael Graves. I was drawn to Emory by the beauty of the campus with its trademark quad of marble buildings with red Mediterranean roofs.

What kind of car do you drive? Lincoln MKX

Smartphone or paper? BOTH!

What is your favorite city after Atlanta? Seattle – where the mountains meet the sea

In 10 words or less, what is your advice for someone new to the industry? Work over-full-time and be genuine.

What’s your favorite real estate iPhone/Android app? Docusign & ShowingTime. For property searches, FMLS HomeSnap.
