Name: Clay Dalton

Job Title: Associate Broker

Company: RE/MAX UNLIMITED in Kennesaw

What was your first job in the realty industry? Agent.

Where did you grow up? Born in Cartersville, Georgia, but lived in Douglasville, Smyrna, Marietta, Waleska and Canton.

Growing up, what did you want to be? An artist! I owned a graphic design and printing company for 13 years, worked on plastic cup designs for the varsity Atlanta Braves, and got into real estate 23 years ago!

What do you do to relax when you’re stressed? Ride my motorcycle and run. I have finished 2 marathons.

If you could have lunch with a well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why? President Trump, the ultimate real estate guru!

Where is your favorite place to hang out? Gatlinburg, Tennessee, where I am also licensed, and our home turf of Canton, Georgia.

What do you love most about the industry? Helping people achieve their real estate dreams.

How do you distinguish yourself from the crowd of agents? I actually answer my phone! No teams, just great service.

What is the most difficult aspect of your job? Working all the time, 24/7/365. I have shown homes on Christmas Day!

Where do you go to network and meet new clients? Everywhere! I am very talkative; I like to meet people pumping gas for that matter. My vehicle has logos so I make friends everywhere I go.

What has been your greatest accomplishment? As a Realtor, I was No. 9 out of 4500 RE/MAX agents and No. 1 two years in a row at the 17th largest RE/MAX office in the nation when the market was booming

What was the last good movie you saw or book you read? “Excitement in War and Peace,” by my 89-year-old veteran father W. Harris Dalton, Jr., who was in the Korean War. Go, Navy!

Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Atlanta? High Museum.

What kind of car do you drive? I have two wrapped vehicles: one is a 2016 Chevy Silverado Truck 4×4 for the land property showings, and a 2015 Ford Escape for quick visits!

Smartphone or paper? Note 8 with the handwriting. No paper if I can!

What is your favorite city after Atlanta? Gatlinburg, Tennessee. I love selling the Great Smoky Mountains.

In 10 words or less, what is your advice for someone new to the industry? Answer your phone: People are counting on you!

What’s your favorite real estate iPhone/Android app? Showing Time

Who are your favorite people to follow on Twitter? I’m more of a Facebook guy, but I love Lou Dobbs on Twitter.
