Alix Cloud Hunsucker, Director of Sales, Engel and Völkers Buckhead Atlanta and Atlanta North Fulton

What was your most interesting job before going into real estate? My most interesting job before real estate was being a professional photographer.

Where did you grow up? I grew up in Paris, Madrid, West Point, NY (US Military Academy), Canada and Augusta GA…my father was a diplomat.

Growing up, what did you want to be? A doctor or a flight attendant lol

What do you do to relax when you’re stressed? Play tennis, read, watch episodes of The Office or Friends

If you could meet any well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why? Alexandra of Russia, the last czarina because I was named after her. Her intimate family and friends called her Alix.

What is Atlanta’s best-kept secret? Jones Bridge Park … feels like you are nestled in the North Ga mountains

What do you love most about the industry? The flexibility of my schedule and that it’s a people driven job (from client, to colleagues, to loan officers, to inspectors, and on and on).

How do you distinguish yourself from the crowd of agents? I am well known in the industry to be a master negotiator and am very “persuasive” I’m told!

What is the most difficult aspect of your job? I would say experimenting with lead gen sources and best advertising methods are the most difficult aspects of my job.

What’s your best advice for generating new leads? Get out and be seen! Spend time in activities you love and your potential clients will get to know the “real” you.

What are you binge-watching/reading/listening to lately? Schitts Creek, Escape to the Chateau, The Bachelorette, Amazing Race

What’s your favorite meal in Atlanta? Fried lobster tail and gnocchi at Pampas

Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Atlanta? Rhodes Hall in Midtown

What’s the weirdest thing that’s ever happened to you on the job? Showing a house that had a doberman and a pug in the basement when I myself own a doberman and a pug … a weird dog combo that I never thought I’d ever see someone else with! I couldn’t stop talking about it with my client AND the seller and I took pictures of the dogs and sent to all my children … I saved those pictures!

What’s one thing people are surprised to learn about you? That I was supposed to play basketball in college.

What is your favorite vacation spot and why? Nassau Bahamas…hands down!! The color of the water! The people and the white fluffy sand. It feels European in a sense too. I plan on having a second home there.

What is your favorite city after Atlanta? After Nassau, it’s Paris.

In 10 words or less, what is your advice for someone new to the industry? Show up on time for everything and dress impeccably!

What’s your favorite real estate iPhone/Android app? RPR

Who are your favorite people to follow on social media? Barbara Corcoran and Kevin O’Leary…I’m a huge Shark Tank fan!
