Artisan Built Communities hires director of purchasing

by John Yellig

Acworth-based Artisan Built Communities named industry veteran Casey Bruce as director of purchasing.

In his new role, Bruce will manage cost controls for materials and labor to help Artisan deliver homes affordably, the homebuilder said in a press release. He also will work to ensure the accuracy of architectural drawings to guarantee clear and correct communication with all parties involved, from internal builders to vendors to homebuyers.

Bruce also plans to increase the accuracy of cost reporting through the implementation of a new purchase-order software system.

Most recently, Bruce served as operations manager for Liberty Communities in McDonough. Before that, he worked with homebuilders in California, Florida and Georgia.

“Casey has already been a tremendous asset to our team as we navigate the volatile market our industry is currently experiencing,” Artisan President Stephen Haines said in a press release. “With rapidly rising prices on materials, labor shortages and other unexpected changes, his expertise has been instrumental in cash-flow management.”
