Ashley Altenbach is a Realtor with Dorsey Alston in Buckhead/Intown Atlanta.

What was your first job in the realty industry? I was an intern at Serenbe, a sustainable community 45 minutes south of Atlanta. I had a passion for the design and layout of the homes. It was fun to see them built and all the stages of the process.

Where did you grow up? I am from West Monroe, LA.

Growing up, what did you want to be? Growing up, I always loved homes and wanted to do something in sales. However, I did not dream of being a Realtor. I knew I wanted to be an entrepreneur though!

What do you do to relax when you’re stressed? I love yoga! It helps me breathe and helps me get level headed after a stressful day.

If you could have lunch with a well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why? I would like to have lunch with Bob Goff; he is an inspirational and Christian author. His look on life is super refreshing and fun! He wrote a book, “Love Does,” and it taught me how important it is to love those around us.

Where is your favorite place to hang out? You can find me at The Big Ketch meeting friends for drinks after work on Thursdays! I love all the Ford Fry restaurants and trying new foods!

What do you love most about the industry? I love being able to work from home, meet new people and see homes! I have a passion for historic homes and get extra excited to show older homes with a history!

How do you distinguish yourself from the crowd of agents? I am passionate about the homes and neighborhoods in Atlanta. I find it a fun and adventurous job. I think my passion separates me from my peers. I truly get excited to see each home and learn whether it is a fit or not for my client.

What is the most difficult aspect of your job? Leaving town is hard! I just know a deal will pop up the second I leave town.

Where do you go to network and meet new clients? I love dinner parties in my neighborhood, book clubs and church.

What was the last good movie you saw or book you read? I read “Luckiest Girl Alive” by Jessica Knoll. It was a thriller! Nail biting too!

What is your favorite restaurant? Sotto Sotto in Inman Park is to die for! It is my favorite place in Atlanta, and maybe in the world!

Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Atlanta? The Villa on Montgomery Ferry by Neel Reid and Philip Trammell Shutze. Shutze modeled it after the entry to the Cortile of the Chiesa di Santa Cecilia in Trastevere in Rome.

What kind of car do you drive? Lexus RX 350

Smartphone or paper? Smartphone

What is your favorite city after Atlanta? Nashville – I love music and the hilly landscape!

In 10 words or less, what is your advice for someone new to the industry? Do something to build you business everyday!

What’s your favorite real estate iPhone/Android app? I use the FMLS app.
