Rhonda Simpson is a new home specialist with Crown Realty Professionals, Inc. in Atlanta.

What was your first job in the realty industry? I was an agent with Century 21 Gold Medal, which closed several years ago.

Where did you grow up? I am an army brat; I grew up mostly in Europe, and White Plains, NY.

What is your favorite free-time activity? Shopping and playing tennis.

What do you do to relax when you’re stressed? Crossword puzzles.

Growing up, what did you want to be? An FBI agent; I have a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice.

If you could have lunch with a well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why? Nelson Mandela, because he was the central figure in the abolishment of apartheid. He was jailed for speaking out about injustice. He felt that there should be one South Africa, I think that the many years of wisdom he has to share is valuable.

Where is your favorite place to hang out? Lennox Mall,

What do you love most about the industry? The ability to assist purchasers to secure their new home, and to see the look on their faces after they have received their keys is priceless.

How do you distinguish yourself from the crowd of agents? Buyers will only purchase from agents who are knowledgeable and relatable. I stand alone because all of my purchaser’s are treated like family members. They trust me because they know, in their hearts, that I only want the best for them.

What is the most difficult aspect of your job? There is nothing difficult about my job, because I embrace any hiccup that may arise.

Where do you go to network and meet new clients? I have an extensive referral base that consist of past homeowners and agents. I visit several broker offices per quarter to conduct luncheons. I also deliver inventory flyers on a weekly basis to broker offices, and place them on cars at various venues.

What has been your greatest accomplishment? Receiving my bachelor’s degree. I am the only sibling with a degree. Everyone else is in the military.

What was the last good movie you saw or book you read? Lee Daniel’s The Butler.

What is your favorite restaurant? Imperial Fez.

Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Atlanta? The King and Queen building and The Westin Hotel.

What kind of car do you drive? 2012 Lexus RX 350.

Smartphone or Paper? Smartphone Note 3.

What is your favorite city after Atlanta? New York, since it’s my hometown.

In 10 words or less, what is your advice for someone new to the industry? Secure a mentor.
