In his more than 25 years in the mortgage industry, Rick Floyd’s commitment to his clients, his associates and his career is evident in the ideals he feels he and his firm, HomeBridge Financial Services, embody: outstanding customer service rooted in honest communication. Floyd is a partner and executive vice president at HomeBridge. “HomeBridge offers a world-class product, and we work hard to ensure that we also epitomize a world-class culture, clearly communicating our value, mission and vision,” he says. Floyd certainly knows that this kind of culture breeds success, which his recognition among National Mortgage Professional Magazine’s “15 Most Connected Mortgage Professionals” in 2014 and 2015 attests to. He has also been named as one of Mortgage Executive Magazine’s “100 Most Influential Mortgage Executives” for the past three years.
A career in banking in the 1980s exposed Floyd to various lines of business within financial services, and gave him hands-on training on what it takes to meet each client’s unique mortgage needs. The skills he sharpened throughout that experience prepared him to work with a range of homebuyers and homeowners, whether their goal is to purchase or refinance a home. “We serve a diverse set of clients in a diverse set of markets from coast to coast,” he explains. “We do it all!” Their services even include helping structure loans for home renovation financing, an emerging loan product for which HomeBridge is currently the third-highest provider nationwide.
“I believe that people are my expertise,” Floyd goes on to say, adding that he is a people person and holds true the notion that people work for people. Floyd sees his HomeBridge colleagues included in the group of people he personally serves. “We offer a Performance Center that helps all of our professionals strengthen their skills and set clear goals against which they can benchmark progress. This approach allows us to recruit, develop and retain outstanding talent, even as we increase our productivity and build a roster of lifelong clients.”
A devotee of his alma mater, the University of Georgia, Floyd served as president of the Mortgage Bankers Association of Georgia, and also holds membership in the National Mortgage Bankers Association. In addition, he continues to proudly serve as president of Fayetteville’s Whitewater High School Booster Club; even though his children have graduated, it offers the chance to give back to the community’s young people. But ask Floyd to describe what it is exactly that he does for a living, and this Georgia Bulldog’s answer is simple: “I fulfill the American dream.”
