The 2019 Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association’s Mortgage Professional of the Year, Amy Buynoski is driven by her clients’ unique stories and the opportunity to provide the keys to the next chapter of their lives. Buynoski, the vice president/mortgage lender at Ameris Bank, has 17 years of lending experience, having started in the banking industry to fulfill her dream of helping others achieve their homeownership goals. Specializing in purchases, Buynoski and her team works with nearly 400 people per year, including first-time homebuyers, move-up buyers, empty nesters, veterans and clients with challenging credit.

“Each day is different, and no two files are the same,” she says, adding that during any given week, they may assist with low down payments as well as FHA, conventional, renovation and VA loans. “My team and I take the time to understand a client’s needs and walk them through the process, maintaining constant communication in order to avoid closing nightmares.”

Because of her longevity in the industry and her status as one of the top 5 lenders in the state and the No. 2 loan officer in her company, Buynoski also works directly with new loan officers, helping them reach their full potential through hands-on training. The same characteristics that make her an asset to fledgling professionals are equally beneficial to her clients. “I have a consultative approach,” she says. “I don’t look for the easy solution, but for the right one.”

Buynoski is the president of sales and marketing for Greater Atlanta Home Builders and is a cheer mom for the 6th- and 7th-grade Junior Titans Cheer Squad.
