With 40 years’ experience in real estate, Lawrence N. Sharp Jr. is appreciated for both his knowledge and his easy-going, no-nonsense style. “I listen to my clients’ needs as well as assess a fair market value of property,” the broker and owner of Lawrence Sharp Realtors LLC observes. “I am known for negotiating effectively and exceeding my clients’ expectations.” Sharp specializes in luxury sales throughout Decatur, Brookhaven, Buckhead, Lithonia, Stone Mountain and Dunwoody.
A resident of Dekalb County for over 40 years, Sharp started his career as a police officer at Georgia State University before realizing he wanted more freedom in his schedule and the ability to drive his own success. “I chose the real estate business because it paired with my love for people and always being on the move,” he shares. “I am a natural salesman, so it was a great fit.”
Atlanta Business League named Sharp an honoree of Men of Influence in 2023. He has received numerous awards throughout his career, including the William M. Mulkey “Show Rotary Cares” Award in 2021-2022 from the Rotary Club of South DeKalb and the Dekalb Realtors Pinnacle Award in 2019, as well as being named Outstanding Volunteer as board chair in 2015 by the YMCA Academies of South DeKalb and East Lake YMCA’s Volunteer of the Year in 2011. He is a member of the Decatur Chapter Rotary Club, Dekalb Rotary Council, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Dekalb County Chapter of 100 Black Men of America, Atlanta Business League and Jacksonville State University’s National Alumni Association. “I consider what I do as a relationship business. I don’t just sell houses, I build relationships,” he explains.
Sharp loves traveling and recently accompanied his wife and daughter to Paris to attend the French Open Grand Slam. He also enjoys attending the Masters golf tournament.
