Rachel Callihan-Cowart, Realtor

Ansley Real Estate, Christie’s International Real Estate

Calling Rachel Callihan-Cowart a native is an understatement; her family settled in the area back in the 1800s. Starting a career owning successful riding stables on Callihan family property, she sold the business to her brother and it is now run by her niece. “My father built cabins and sold land so I was always involved in real estate,” Callihan-Cowart explains. “Because of that, I know how to research, walk properties, find the corners and read a survey.”

A Realtor with Ansley Real Estate Callihan-Cowart has been in the industry for 17 years, helping clients buy and sell mountain properties throughout north Georgia. Crediting her success to her ability to really listen and observe, she is able to learn a vast amount from new clients the first day she shows them properties. “I am very honest and loyal,” she admits. “If I feel it is not a good purchase, I explain that to my clients and let them decide how to proceed.”

Known as being a fun and easy Realtor, mixed with business and drive, Callihan-Cowart enjoys rising to a challenge in helping families find their dream homes. A sponsor of the Parade of Homes since it began, she enjoys supporting local academics and sports teams, and recently traveled on a mission trip as a chaperone for Faulkner University to Tanzania.

As a new grandmother, Callihan-Cowart has two kids in college and looks forward to her youngest child graduating in February from online school at age 16. When not working, she sings and plays guitar in a mission band called the Appalachian String Strummers, performing in retirement centers and nursing homes. “I am an animal lover and actually acquired a mule in one of my closings,” she shares. “His name is Sam Mule.”
