Sisters Stephanie Butler and Lisa Swayne say they learned much about how to be successful while being raised by their single mother.
On many occasions, while their mom was stuck at work and they had a problem that needed solving, she often told them, “Figure it out, girls.” Those four words, they say, would give them everything they needed to be successful in life: street smarts and wisdom.
Realtors Butler and Swayne, team leads of The Butler/Swayne Team Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Georgia Properties, use those same problem-solving skills to help clients achieve their goals. In 2022, they were named the brokerage’s No. 1 Medium Team, Diamond Award-winner.
Before real estate, Butler was a corporate event planner for Fortune 500 companies and Swayne was a project manager for a software company. Both of those jobs required logistics coordination, scheduling, problem-solving and a high level of customer service—all skills they bring to every real estate transaction.
Their team includes five Realtors, a client coordinator, transaction coordinator, photographers, a social media marketing team, a stager and a long list of respected vendors. They serve luxury buyers and sellers in North Atlanta, Alpharetta, Milton and Roswell, areas they know very well. For the past 23 years, Butler and Swayne have lived in Milton with their families. But they grew up in East Cobb and have lived in Sandy Springs and Vinings.
When they started their careers in real estate 20 years ago, they assumed they just needed to know how to market listings, secure buyers and sell. “Ha! Who knew ‘selling without selling’ would become our niche?” Butler and Swayne say. “Our clients rely heavily on our problem-solving skills. Thinking on our feet. Anticipating their needs and staying calm. They don’t want to know how to build the watch. They just want us to tell them the time.”
