RJ Vojnich is the consultant/owner of The Independent Team in Atlanta.

What was your first job in the realty industry? Condominium Hotels and Resorts in Stratton Mountain, Vermont.

Where did you grow up? Connecticut.

What is your favorite free-time activity? People watching.

What do you do to relax when you’re stressed? I work more – when I see things getting done, only then can I start to relax.

Growing up, what did you want to be? I became it (successful), then I gave it away to find out both who I was and happiness.

If you could have lunch with a well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why? My Father; he is famous to me. Why? Because there is so much to say, and he isn’t here to hear it from my lips.

Where is your favorite place to hang out? My house.

What do you love most about the industry? The people.

How do you distinguish yourself from the crowd of agents? Take a look at me, and you will figure it out – I’m not a suit and tie Realtor.

What is the most difficult aspect of your job? The fact that all real estate isn’t played equally and fairly. I get frustrated when its not an equal playing field for my clients.

Where do you go to network and meet new clients? Referrals are my business, as is social networking.

What has been your greatest accomplishment? My three wonderful kids; nothing can top them.

What was the last good movie you saw or book you read? I’m a horror film fan, and the last real good one was The Silence of the Lambs.

What is your favorite restaurant? Colonnade – it’s the only place to get liver and onions.

Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Atlanta? Impossible to choose. The Healy Building at 57 Forsyth (the lobby is incredible), and the High Museum.

What kind of car do you drive? I own a VW Jetta, but I Drive a scooter; it makes parking so much easier in Atlatna!

In 10 words or less, what is your advice for someone new to the industry? Do what’s right, not what will make you money.
