Tia Lynn (Jones) Johnson is a real estate professional with EXP Realty LLC.

What was your first job in the realty industry? I started as a real estate professional.

Where did you grow up? Oakland, Cal.

What do you do to relax when you’re stressed? The best way for me to relax is to pray and let go.

Growing up, what did you want to be? I wanted to be a real estate agent. I wanted to wear the gold jackets like the Century 21 agents did on television. It has always been my dream, and it took a long time, but I made it. Perseverance!

If you could have lunch with a well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why? My dad, Glandion Carney. My dad has persevered and is still a trooper. He was diagnosed with Parkinson’s three years ago, despite his illness, he is still dad, and has such a great amount of knowledge. He is No. 1 in my book. We always say that if you want to know about my dad, google him. He is an Author, former Episcopalian Priest and counselor.

Where is your favorite place to hang out? I love going to the downtown Decatur farmers market with my sisters, mom and eldest daughter.

What do you love most about the industry? Meeting people and servicing there needs. I have been in customer service for 15 years, I love being able to help fulfill a need or a dream.

How do you distinguish yourself from the crowd of agents? Being myself, there’s no one else like me.

What is the most difficult aspect of your job? Time, the day is gone before you know it.

Where do you go to network and meet new clients? Everywhere. Networking can be done in a million places, all you need is a smile and a conversation.

What has been your greatest accomplishment? Passing the State exam which I had failed the three previous times. One the day before I went to Italy. The trip was great, but I was anxious to get home and test again.

What was the last good movie you saw or book you read? “Star Wars,” and “The One Thing.”

What is your favorite restaurant? Spondivits.

Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Atlanta? I love what they did with the Ponce City Market, I am all about revitalizing the city.

What kind of car do you drive? A Chevy Cruze.

Smartphone or paper? Both, which ever is closest.

What is your favorite city after Atlanta? I am a bay area girl, nothing like San Francisco, with Florence, Italy coming next.

In 10 words or less, what is your advice for someone new to the industry? A closed mouth will never get fed.

What’s your favorite real estate iPhone/Android app? Is that a trick question? I have so many.

Who are your favorite people to follow on Twitter? I love the daily reminders from the “One Thing,” and @Jaypapasan. @katielance and @Markilemons.
