Agent Snapshot: Gitte Claud, Realtor, Harry Norman Realtors, Metro Atlanta

6d75642000cd0e8ef5fee6a3b25f20bdWhat was your first job in the realty industry? Realtor. I have worked in the same office in Sandy Springs for more than 17 years.

Where did you grow up? Denmark, in the beautiful small town of Svendborg. I moved to Copenhagen later in life.

Growing up, what did you want to be? When I was four, I wanted to be a florist. I have always loved flowers and the outdoors. Later, I dreamed of being a flight attendant, and became one. I flew with Scandinavian Airlines for over 11 years. My background as a flight attendant gave me a great education and experience for customer service and interacting with the public.

What do you do to relax when you’re stressed? I go for a run. I love running. It’s my daily habit.

If you could have lunch with a well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why? Donald Trump. I have a few thoughts I would like to share with him. 🙂

Where is your favorite place to hang out? At home, by my pool and in Aspen on the ski slopes.

What do you love most about the industry? I love people and I find great pleasure in assisting families in finding a new home or selling a home. [Whether it’s] a first-time homebuyer, a relocating buyer or seller, a move-up or empty nester, it’s a huge deal for most folks and it’s lovely to be part of it.

How do you distinguish yourself from the crowd of agents? I take great pride in providing superior service. I believe I show my clients that I really care. I have moved across the ocean and within this country myself, so I know the challenges that can occur, such as obtaining a Social Security card, a driver’s license, etc.

What is the most difficult aspect of your job? After more than 17 years in the business, I don’t really find my job difficult.

Where do you go to network and meet new clients? Chamber events, friend and neighborhood events, restaurants, and the tennis court.

What has been your greatest accomplishment? Raising my daughter to become a successful professional.

What was the last good movie you saw or book you read? American Sniper stands out. Book, “The ones we trust” by local author Kimberly Belle.

What is your favorite restaurant? Nan Thai and Brooklyn Cafe.

Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Atlanta? The Georgia state capitol, The Swan House, and Millennium Gate

What kind of car do you drive? A BMW

Smartphone or paper? iPhone

What is your favorite city after Atlanta? Chicago in the summer, Aspen in the winter, and of course Copenhagen any time.

In 10 words or less, what is your advice for someone new to the industry? Don’t be afraid of rejection. Hang in there!

What’s your favorite real estate iPhone/Android app? Harry Norman Home Search and Homesnap
