What was your first job in the realty industry? I started out working at a mortgage company as a bookkeeper when I was 19, loved the company and moved into originating loans, then progressed to owning a mortgage company for a few years prior to adopting our children.

Where did you grow up? I grew up in Kentucky, however I have been in Georgia since I was in elementary school.

Growing up, what did you want to be? I wanted to be a veterinarian because I loved animals.

What do you do to relax when you’re stressed? I love to work in the yard.

If you could have lunch with a well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why? George W. Bush. When I first started to have a career he was president and politics finally started to matter or grew more important. I always admired him and his wife.

Where is your favorite place to hang out? Anywhere with my family. I love when we spend time on the lake or camping together.

What do you love most about the industry? I love to help people and know that we are trained to overcome obstacles that will bring a buyer and seller together-both achieving their goals. I have met some amazing people over the years and many clients that have become great friends!

How do you distinguish yourself from the crowd of agents? I think it is about service. I try to make the process as smooth as possibly always putting my clients first. I am huge on consistently continuing my education and keeping up to date on what is new.

What is the most difficult aspect of your job? Definitely when you have become friends with clients and then you receive a call down the road that they are being relocated and moving away. Saying goodbye is never easy!

Where do you go to network and meet new clients? Local events

What has been your greatest accomplishment? My family! My husband and I fostered children here locally and have adopted four amazing kids.

What was the last good movie you saw or book you read? Becoming a Woman of Influence by Carol Kent

What is your favorite restaurant? Blue Ridge Grill on West Paces Ferry

Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Atlanta? Atlanta Marriott Marquis, it is older but always very cool to see.

What kind of car do you drive? GMC Yukon XL (4 kids + Realtor)

Smartphone or paper? I really like both but smartphone probably wins!

What is your favorite city after Atlanta? In Georgia-Blue Ridge. Otherwise, probably the west coast of Costa Rica-Playa Conchal.

In 10 words or less, what is your advice for someone new to the industry? Be kind, find a good mentor, & take lots of classes.
