Agent Snapshot: Sean Carter, Realtor, Coldwell Banker

Name: Sean Carter

Job Title: Realtor

Company: Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage Intown

What was your first job in the realty industry? My first job in real estate was as an agent. I have been with Coldwell Banker for a little over five years now.

Where did you grow up? I grew up in Pasadena, in sunny southern California.

Growing up, what did you want to be? I grew up wanting to be a lawyer. However, in college I did an internship and realized that’s not what I wanted to do.

What do you do to relax when you’re stressed? When I’m stressed I like to browse art galleries and play tennis to decompress.

If you could have lunch with a well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why? I would have lunch with Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. I would want to get his perspective on what’s happening in the world and learn what I could do to make things better.

Where is your favorite place to hang out? My favorite place to hang out is Divan in Buckhead. It’s a great hidden gem.

What do you love most about the industry? I like the ability to help my clients find their dream home.

How do you distinguish yourself from the crowd of agents? My distinguishing element is my youth, knowledge of the city and the quality of service I provide to my clients.

What is the most difficult aspect of your job? The most difficult aspect of my job is helping clients align what they want with what they need in a home. In this digital age everyone has a dream home idea but depending on where we are in our home purchase, that dream isn’t always achievable at the moment. So realigning what a client needs with what they want is challenging but so much fun.

Where do you go to network and meet new clients? That’s my little secret; however, I will say I’m social networker and like to gather my clients organically.

What has been your greatest accomplishment? My greatest accomplishment was making rookie of the year for my office while still in college. It was a great example of how hard work and strong goals make it happen, and that anything is achievable even when you are full-time college student.

What was the last good movie you saw or book you read? The last good movie I watched was GiGi. I love old movies and it’s such a fun 1950s story.

What is your favorite restaurant? My favorite restaurant is Bistro Niko.

Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Atlanta? My favorite building is Sovereign condominiums in Buckhead. It’s a building where architecture and design met seamlessly in a way that you can’t help but stare at it.

What kind of car do you drive? I drive an Acura ILX.

Smartphone or paper? Smart phone all the way, because I know I will never lose what I put in it. I need it to live!

What is your favorite city after Atlanta? Seattle, Wash.

In 10 words or less, what is your advice for someone new to the industry? Get a good CPA and stick with them.

What’s your favorite real estate iPhone/Android app? ShowingTime, it saves the day more than you would think.

Who are your favorite people to follow on Twitter? I’m not big on Twitter but I love Zoë Kravitz’s posts on Instagram. Not only is she beautiful; she is humble.
