Agent Snapshot: Miracle Holt, Associate Broker, Palmerhouse

Name: Miracle Holt

Job Title: Associate Broker

Company: Palmerhouse

What was your first job in the industry? Very first job was as a Credit Manager with Wells Fargo helping to refinance homes. I consider that my first dig into real estate.

Where did you grow up? East Point, Ga. and Decatur, Ga.

Growing up, what did you want to be? I’ve always wanted to be a “business woman” even before I started grade school.

What do you do to relax when you’re stressed? Massage, take a trip, journal

If you could have lunch with a well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why? I would love to have lunch with Oprah, she has so much influence and perspective when it comes to managing people and managing businesses. She is a great speaker and people of all races and backgrounds adore her. She is the epitome of a business woman.

Where is your favorite place to hang out? Home! I spend a lot of my down time at home or visiting family. If I am feeling adventurous the entire city can be my playground.

What do you love most about the industry? I love the diversity of the real estate industry. Not everyone has to do the exact same thing. You have so many options and really any personality type can find a good fit.

How do you distinguish yourself from the crowd of agents? I distinguish myself from other agents by leaning on my corporate experiences working for banks and mortgage companies. I have worked for large and small banks helping people secure home loans. Those experiences make me more knowledgeable than the average agent. I’m also an Atlanta native so I know the city and its surroundings much better than most. I also have a degree in Marketing and Sales, which helps me to develop creative marketing strategies for my clients as well.

What is the most difficult aspect of your job? The most difficult aspect is when a client cannot fulfill their goal for whatever reason. It is absolutely the WORST to know that someone’s goal is being postponed. People can be devastated by that and it’s a lot to bear as an agent. I want to help so badly but in most cases it is out of my hands and has nothing to do with my portion of the transaction.

Where do you go to network and meet new clients? I meet clients every day! Facebook and Instagram has been a great virtual platform to meet prospective clients. I also meet new clients while out shopping or running errands. Random conversations with strangers while I’m out has proved to be a great way to meet unexpected clients!

What has been your greatest accomplishment? My greatest accomplishment in my life: surviving everything that was supposed to tear me down.

What was the last good movie you saw or book you read? Last good book I read (still reading) is the “Total Money Makeover” by Dave Ramsey! It teaches about discipline with your money and how real life millionaires are made.

What is your favorite restaurant? Pappadeux is one of my favorite restaurants! I love seafood ?

Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Atlanta? My favorite building is 191 Peachtree Tower! The views of the city from the Commerce Club level are amazing and gives me so much inspiration every time I visit.

What kind of car do you drive? A 2010 Mercedes C300

Smartphone or paper? Both! I love to use my planner to keep track of important goals and dates. My phone is really my day to day activities to keep me on track.

What is your favorite city after Atlanta? Las Vegas!

In 10 words or less, what is your advice for someone new to the industry? Figure out what makes you special, brand it, then capitalize.

What’s your favorite real estate iPhone/Android app? Hootsuite for marketing

Who are your favorite people to follow on Twitter? I use to be heavy in the twitter game but not as much any more. I follow lots of industry leaders in real estate and finance though to keep my ears to the “tweets!”
