Mitchell A. Prusin is a Realtor with Keller Williams Buckhead

What was your first job in the realty industry? I worked for a wholesaler in the early 2000’s. I handled all of the sales for the company.

Where did you grow up? I was born in Miami, but moved to Atlanta when I was 12. I grew up in actual Buckhead.

Growing up, what did you want to be? An actor/comedian

What do you do to relax when you’re stressed? I play tennis, listen to the Beastie Boys or work out at the gym.

If you could have lunch with a well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why? Groucho Marx. He was the pioneer of comedy, and I can’t imagine a more interesting lunch. Plus I could get some humor tips.

Where is your favorite place to hang out? I am a midtown guy – Highlands, Inman Park Family Dog (when it re-opens).

What do you love most about the industry? Every deal is it’s own little puzzle. Nothing is the same. I also love my freedom, and the ability to succeed or fail on my own. No boss for me!

How do you distinguish yourself from the crowd of agents? Communication is key. Also, they must trust you and know that you have their interests before your own.

What is the most difficult aspect of your job? Dealing with the “roller-coaster” – the ups and downs can be pretty severe, and I have to remain somewhere in the middle. Anyone that thinks that real estate is all puppy dogs and ice cream has no idea.

Where do you go to network and meet new clients? I am a big networker; I try to take someone to lunch at least once a week. I am also asking my friends and “sphere” to introduce me to new possible clients. I also play ALTA and USTA tennis, so I am always meeting new people playing tennis.

What has been your greatest accomplishment? Beating cancer!

What was the last good movie you saw or book you read? The last book I read was The Godfather –fantastic!

What is your favorite restaurant? I like Fritti for pizza, or old school George’s in the Highlands for a great burger.

Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Atlanta? Probably the High Museum or The Temple on Peachtree.

What kind of car do you drive? BMW 528i

Smartphone or paper? I am still a bit old school – I love the feeling of pen on paper.

What is your favorite city after Atlanta? My mother’s home town, Denver.

What is your advice for someone new to the industry? Make sure you know what you are getting into. It can be a very hard and frustrating business.

What’s your favorite real estate iPhone/Android app? Probably the FMLS app.

Who are your favorite people to follow on Twitter? Sarah Silverman, Shaquile O’Neal, Jeffrey Ross.
