Hans Heiserer Real Estate Advisor, Coldwell Banker Atlanta

What was your most interesting job before going into real estate? Sports Talk radio host and sideline reporter for ACC network

Where did you grow up? Buckhead

Growing up, what did you want to be? A shooting guard for the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets

What do you do to relax when you’re stressed? Play basketball

If you could meet any well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why? Bob Marley – one of the most influential artist of the 20th century. Practiced what he preached. Wanted equality and peace for all mankind. Was in touch with his spirituality, often referred to as our natural mystic.

What is Atlanta’s best-kept secret? Chastain Park Amphitheatre. Seen so many great, intimate shows there.

What do you love most about the industry? You’ll laugh, but showing property. My clients and I have a blast! You won’t believe what you see out there sometimes. LOL

How do you distinguish yourself from the crowd of agents? Face-to-face meetings. Just be yourself. Too much of the competition are canned. Trained and all the same. Not all, but so many go through their presentations and never connect with their potential clients.

What is the most difficult aspect of your job? For me, organization, but thankfully my amazing wife helps keep me together.

What’s your best advice for generating new leads? Keep moving and keep a handful of business cards. Don’t be pushy with it but I find myself meeting dozens of new people everyday. Somebody always knows somebody coming or going. This is a busy city.

What are you binge-watching/reading/listening to lately? I miss live music so I’m on Youtube a lot. I let shows play in the background when I’m doing busy work, in the shower, whatever. It’s really amazing all the old shows that are out there and most have great quality. As I type this, I’m watching Soundgarden’s set from Lollapalooza 92′ in Washington. We gotta get live music back in 21′ once we get vaccinated!

What’s your favorite meal in Atlanta? I’m a southern boy so Mathew’s Cafeteria in Tucker is amazing! Busy Bees on MLK is on point too! Anything of either of their menus is a slam dunk IMO!

Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Atlanta? C’mon…The Fox Theater is one of the coolest places on planet Earth! I used to work there, so I know a little about the history which makes it even cooler. The shows I’ve seen there — I could write a book. Prince’s very last show ever, George Carlin, Bill Cosby (can I say that), etc.! The building itself is just gorgeous! The ceilings, tile, carpet, fixtures, everything is just flawless!

What’s the weirdest thing that’s ever happened to you on the job? Walked in on some guys squatting in an attic doing abstract art and god knows what else. They took one look at my client and me, screamed and jumped out the window. I don’t know who was more scared, us or them. Turned out to be the seller’s son who had a key and was there unknowingly to his parents. Makes sense why the house was on the market for nine months, LOL.

What’s one thing people are surprised to learn about you? I’m a pretty good cook and actually enjoy it. I’ve yet to get into grilling as my wife and daughter are vegetarians but it’s coming this summer!

What is your favorite vacation spot and why? We go to Destin every six months for a week each time. Absolutely love it down there. My daughter is home-schooled, so we can go when the kids are back in school and it’s less crowded. I’ve been down there for spring break and that’s not much of a vacation. We’re lucky there.

What is your favorite city after Atlanta? Love the Pacific Ocean! San Diego, L.A. (on the water), and the bay area are all great places to visit! Especially in the summer time to get a break from the Georgia humidity. This is a life hack to being happy in the South. Gotta get out of the humidity at least once a summer.

In 10 words or less, what is your advice for someone new to the industry? Find a mentor and put your personal twist on things (exactly 10!)

What’s your favorite real estate iPhone/Android app? ShowingTime! Cause when that puppy beeps there’s potentially money on the other end!

Who are your favorite people to follow on social media? I am blacking out all social media in 2021′. It’s a personal decision as I found myself spending way too much time on it the past few years. It’s hard enough for me to focus as is LOL.
